A Guide to Roller Blinds

Still one of the most popular blinds available and for good reason. There is so much we can say about roller blinds.

Roller blinds are just as they sound. They are blinds that unroll to cover your window. The blind itself is a single piece of fabric wrapped around a casing installed across the top of the window recess. You can have it outside of the recess too. Roller blinds are operated by a chain that is connected to the casing itself. They are a convenient and stylish blind for any window space.

Benefits of roller blinds:

Roller blinds are one of the most popular and versatile blinds. Roller blinds are found in homes, businesses, and public buildings. Here are just a few added benefits to show why roller blinds are a perfect choice.

  • Easy to operate – with the pull cords and chain mechanisms, they make roller blinds very simple to operate. Unlike other types of blinds which can be difficult to operate, lock or unlock, - you just simply roll the roller blind up and it will stay in place until your ready to roll it back down.
  • Low maintenance – roller blinds are very easy to keep clean and maintain. They are a very practical blind for a busy schedule.
  • Cost – they are very cost-efficient, ranging from very affordable yet stylish options to a more higher-end priced fabric.
  • Safety – when it comes to safety, there are many elements to keep in mind, and roller blinds are traditionally safe blinds. The mechanisms in rollers can be accessed via the cord, far above the height for children and pets and with an added child-friendly cord lock or cleat means you don’t have to worry about them tugging at the cords or getting stuck.

How to clean your roller blinds:

Our roller blinds rarely get dirty, usually because they are rolled up most of the day, so this will avoid stains or any marks on them. Using the roller blind regularly will help to avoid any huge amounts of dust gathering.

However, we still must make sure they are looking their best, another way is a brush assortment from your vacuum, this is recommended to keep the blinds free from dust. A damp cloth is also one of ones we recommend, if necessary you could use a small amount of washing up liquid to remove any marks or stains.

When done cleaning, try to absorb as much moisture from the blinds, you can use a towel to do this, leave completely rolled out until 100% dry, then you may roll them back up.
