In the past, choosing blinds for the bathroom meant you had limited choices. However, when you look at bathrooms on your favourite Instagram or Pinterest accounts for inspiration, you’ll often find that people are choosing to decorate their bathrooms with all different blind types.
That’s because over the years, we’ve seen an influx of waterproof and wipeable materials enter the market which gives you the flexibility to choose a wide range of blind types.
We’ve compiled a list of recommended blinds that would look great in any bathroom:
Venetian Blinds for the Bathroom
One of the more traditional choices when it comes to bathroom blinds, venetian blinds have long been a mainstay for bathroom windows. Due to the aluminium or plastic material they’re made of, they make an ideal choice due to the water resistance base of these materials. They are also versatile when it comes to colour. Most ranges of venetian blinds come in a variety of colours from reds to purples, greens to blues as well as your more neutral colours such as white, silver, grey and black.
Needless to say, they are also great at controlling light. Because of the tilt function, you can control how much, or how little, light you want into your bathroom by controlling the slats. What’s more is that you are able to fully retract the blind with the pull cord on a venetian blind, making it easier to open windows to let moisture out or to clean things like window sills.
Roller Blinds for the Bathroom
Again, one of the more traditional blind types for bathroom windows are roller blinds. Because of advances in fabric development, it means we can now curate numerous styles of roller blinds for bathrooms. And you don’t have to be fixed on block colours. Not only do they come in plain styles in the majority of colours, our range also includes stripes, zig-zags, animal prints, floral prints and many more so you can even make a feature out of your blinds in the bathroom. Alternatively, if you have strong bold colours and lots of accents in the room, we have you covered there too with neutral rollers, too.
In terms of light control, obviously roller blinds aren’t as versatile as a venetian or vertical for light control. However, they are very functional with a safety chain (to make it safe for the children) that enables you to pull up or down your blind very easily and you can pull it all the way up should you wish to.
Wooden Blinds for the Bathroom
Now we have something a little less traditional for the bathroom. Wooden blinds have been a ‘no-no’ in bathrooms for years due to moisture getting into the wood and causing them to get damaged. However, with the rise of faux wooden blinds, it means that you can now add the wooden blind effect to your bathroom without worrying about damaging your blind in the long run. Because they’re faux wood, it means they are moisture resistant as opposed to real wood that doesn’t offer that level of protection.
As with venetian blinds, faux wooden blinds give you excellent light control due the the ability to tilt the slats to light as much, or as little, light in as you see fit. Not only that, there are a number of colour options too. This includes white, beige, black, wooden (light, medium and dark) and grey. You also get the chance to opt for different textures on the slats themselves to give your blinds a plain or authentic look. Our range includes ‘fine grain’ finishing which means you can have the real wood effect whilst not having to worry about their condition over time.
Vertical Blinds for the Bathroom
Going back to something a bit more traditional for the bathroom, vertical blinds are another blind that you can choose to have in your bathroom. Similar to venetian blinds, verticals have often been the go-to when it comes to blinds for your bathroom. Their fabric means they can sit nicely in a bathroom without them becoming damaged due to moisture. Also, their bunch functionality means that you have excellent light control should you want privacy or let in light.
What’s more, vertical blinds have now become adventurous in their design. Not only can you opt for numerous colours, you can also have patterns including floral prints to zhuzh up your bathroom decor.
